Is my text uploaded?
No. Text is read and compared in this browser tab. The tool does not upload or store your text, although shared site assets and advertising scripts still load.
What can I compare?
Paste plain text, code, configuration, notes, or other UTF-8 text into the two editors, or open local text files.
What are the limits?
Each editor accepts up to 256 KiB. Line, word, and character comparisons are supported; very large comparisons may need line mode or shorter text.
How do I compare two text or code blocks?
Paste or open the original text on the left and the revised text on the right, then choose line, word, or character comparison. Removed content appears on the left and added content appears on the right.
Worked example
Use line mode for release notes or configuration files, word mode for prose, and character mode for a close look at a short code or text change. Swap the sides when you want to reverse the review.
Limits to know
